Manitoba’s Provincial ‘A’ Program teams all brought home hardware at the Curtis Ptolemy Memorial ‘A’ Tournament held over May Long Weekend in Saskatoon, SK.
The U13 Knights won the silver medal after dropping a hard-fought battle against the Regina Barracuda in the finals, finishing 2nd out of 6 teams.
Lyrik Selch led the way offensively for the U13 team, finishing in 3rd among the scoring leaders with 9 goals and 10 points in 6 games.
For the U15s, it was the Knights who took home the silver medal after dropping an intense finals against the South Sask Stealth, while the Terriers won the bronze medal after beating the Regina Barracuda to finish 3rd out of 8 teams.
Manitoba athletes dominated the scoring leaderboard in the U15 tournament, with Vaughn McLeod of the Knights and Owen Hamilton of the Terriers tied at the top with 11 goals and 15 points apiece in 5 games. Will Sedleski of the Knights was not far behind, finishing 4th with 10 goals and 13 points. Athletes from the 2 Manitoba teams took 5 of the top 10 scoring positions in the tournament.
At the U17 tournament, the Knights took home the B-side Gold while the Terriers took home the B-side bronze in a stacked division of 10 teams. Terriers athlete Ridley Ringor finished just shy of the tournament lead with 10 goals and 13 points in 5 games - good for 3rd in the tournament.

The Curtis Ptolemy Memorial ‘A’ Tournament is held annually in Saskatoon, SK over May Long Weekend, and is one of the biggest box lacrosse ‘A’ tournaments in Western Canada. 24 ‘A’ teams from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba competed in the U13 “Silver Stick”, U15 “Justin Sproat Memorial”, and U17 “Curtis Ptolemy Memorial” divisions.
