Announcing Toba Elite 16U

We are very proud to announce a new High-Performance travel program within the MLA.

Toba elite was put together to unite all parties within the Manitoba Lacrosse Association with the common goal of a strong 16U program for our athletes. This program in 2020 is for athletes born in 2004/2005.

Toba Elite will participate in two travel tournaments:

  • CDP 16U “A” Tournament – Saskatoon, SK April 24-26
  • Canada Day Tournament – Calgary, AB June 26-29

This program will be led by Manitoba’s 2021 Canada Games Boys team/TMADP staff:

  • Cory Henkewich (Head Coach)
  • Brett Morrison (Assistant Coach)
  • Blaze Bezecki (Assistant Coach)

TMADP Returns January 2020

The Manitoba Lacrosse Association is pleased to announce the return of the Team Manitoba Athlete Development Program.

After a successful inaugural season in 2018/2019, TMADP will run from January 4th, 2020 through March 28th, 2020.

The program will be run by Manitoba’s Canada Games team staff; Cory Henkewich, Brett Morrison, and Blaze Bezecki.

The program will have two tiers of development; a Bantam/Midget Development program, open to players born 2004-2007 (under-age applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis), and a Midget/Junior High-Performance program, open to players born 1999-2005. The High-Performance tier will have an application process for entry.

Early Bird Pricing will be open until November 15th.

The Manitoba Lacrosse Association Calls For Applications For 2021 Canada Games Staff

The Manitoba Lacrosse Association is pleased to announce that the application period for prospective staff members of Manitoba’s 2021 Canada Games lacrosse teams is now open. Applications will be accepted from July 12th through August 2nd. Applications received outside of this time frame will not be accepted.

Applicants may apply as Head Coach and/or Assistant Coach of both the girls and/or boys lacrosse teams.

An information session will be held Thursday, July 25th, 6:00 PM at Sport Manitoba for all applicants.

Please review the MLA Canada Games Staff Selection Policy prior to applying.

The 2021 Canada Games will take place August 6-21, 2021 in Niagara, Ontario. See the CLA press release for additional details.

Provincial Championship for Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse

The Manitoba High School Field lacrosse league Provincial tournament invitees are:

  • Westwood Collegiate
  • Sturgeon Heights Collegiate
  • River East Collegiate
  • West Kildonan Collegiate
  • Garden City Collegiate
  • Glenlawn Colleigate

All games will be played at Westwood Collegiate (360 Rouge Rd, Winnipeg, MB R3K 1K3)

Games are played from June 4-6th at 4:30 pm and 5:45 pm. With the final being played on Thursday June 6th at 4:30 pm.
